Heads up Miss Macey, baby brother or sister is moving into your room in just a few short weeks!
As many of you know, we are currently living in a small two bedroom house. Plenty of room for a soon-to-be family of four but we will need to get creative with our use of space, specifically in the nursery.
Today I wanted to share how we modified Macey’s room in order to find adequate space for our new addition. Keep in mind, we will not know baby’s gender until I give birth. I’m sure I’ll do a refresh down the road when both kids are older, but for the time being, I’d like to keep it non-gender-specific.
What’s already in Macey’s nursery?
I made a point not to buy a whole bunch of new things for this nursery update. The items below are all things that we’ve been using with Macey and love, so we will continue to use them in the room moving forward. I especially love the diaper pale and the baby monitor, both really great brands! I’m thankful we kept most of her larger pieces neutral in color because it makes it easier to make small, inexpensive changes.
We’ve changed a lot around in her room since the below photo was taken, but this is a good representation of the basics in her room before we started making changes to accommodate a second kiddo.
Inspiration I Pinned On Pinterest
As you can probably guess, there are wayyyy too many things I was loving on Pinterest. I worked hard to narrow my favorite images – these are my favorite and really helped me narrow down what I wanted to accomplish.

Drum-roll please…
Here is Macey and baby #2’s room, all ready for the new addition to arrive!
One of my favorite updates I made to the room was the choice to add black polka dots to the main wall. I’m obsessed with how it turned out! Thank you so much Walls Need Love for the easy to apply decal dots! I used the “Perfectly Imperfect Dots Mini-Pack Wall Decals” in black and I think it’s made the room so fun! They’re easy to apply (and move if you mess up), plus they come off damage free.
I cannot wait to see my two little ones sharing this bedroom. I feel blessed and thankful to be their mama and making this room something special for them has been such a joy!
