Now that we are expecting our second, I’m suddenly overly sensitive about the size of our house. I love where we live and we don’t plan on moving, but with another baby coming our space is about to start feeling pretty small. For those of you who don’t know, we live in a small two bedroom 1 bath house right now. It’s the house we brought Macey home to and we plan to be here for at least a few more year. As a result I’ve had to make some important decisions when it comes to new baby items.
I’m choosing to invest in items that help me save space and that have multiple functions. These are the items I either already invested in or plan to purchase prior to baby 2. If you have any tips or products I’m missing that might help us save some space – leave a comment!
1. DockATot
I did not use a DockATot with Macey because it just wasn’t in our budget. Now with baby #2 I’ve been lucky enough to be {gifted} one to try, thank you DockATot! I’m extremely excited about this because many of my mom friends swear by theirs, so I can’t wait to see what the hype is all about! For those of you who don’t know DockATot is a multi-functional co-sleeper and playtime lounger. It comes in two different sizes (deluxe for 0-8 months, grand 9-36 months) and has been tested for breathability. It’s 100% cotton and from what I’ve been told, is a great tool for various sleep transitions. Get $10 off your first DockATot here!
2. Binxy Baby Hammock
I have never seen these baby hammocks before but thinking of dragging two kids to the store got me wondering…where do the groceries go? If I have Macey in the front of the cart and newborn in the carseat in the bed of the cart…where does everything go? Enter the Binxy Baby Hammock. This genius contraption allows your infant to rest comfortably and safely in the bed of the cart while also leaving ample space for all your groceries. I cannot wait to try this one out!

3. Graco 4-in-1 Convertible Crib
We decided to purchase a new crib for Macey instead of a new crib for baby #2. It made more sense to update Macey’s crib because we aren’t sure when she’ll be ready to transition into a toddler crib and this Graco crib will grow with her up to a full twin bed! I love the way this crib looks; simple and clean. The photo below is Macey’s current crib, but I’ll be sure to post a nursery update once we get that all set up!

4. Pampers Pure Diapers
You can never have too many diapers, right!? 😉 Pampers Pure are my diapers of choice. Macey has very sensitive skin and this brand of Pampers seems to be the most gentle on her skin, so I plan to use them for baby #2 as well.
5. Wildbird
You all already know how much I love Wildbird. I use these ring slings all the time with Macey. I used them daily when she was smaller but now I keep one in my diaper bag and in my car for situations where she needs to be secure but I don’t have my stroller handy. I just know that these slings will be so necessary when I’m needing to tend to Macey but baby #2 needs to be held.
6. Motorola Baby Monitor (with second camera)
We used this Motorola baby monitor (with one camera) for Macey and love it! I’m looking forward to hooking up the second camera for baby #2. Things I love about this monitor:
- There’s a built in sound machine, so no need to purchase a sound machine because it’s included in this package!
- The battery life is lengthy so you aren’t tied to a charger.
- You can set a high and low temperature limit so that you are alerted if your baby’s room reaches dangerous high or low temperatures.
- The screen quality is impressive. Not only is the screen larger than my own phone screen but I’ve never had any issues with the visual quality.
