It feels more important than ever, amidst this new world 2020 has given us, to be intentional about where I’m spending my money this holiday season. As most of you know, I love supporting small business so this year I will only be pulling together one gift guide – exclusively small business focused.
I plan to link a bunch of other shops at the bottom of this post, but below are my top 13 small shops for gifts! You’ll see there are ideas for kids, her, him, home & office, and even some experience gift ideas which are always fun to give! Enjoy.
Gifts for Kids
1. Young Wild & Friedman – A friend recently introduced me to this woman-owned small biz bringing you the CUTEST play dough sensory kits! Just scroll their page and try not to buy something for the small kiddo in your life, I dare you. My favorites are the Lemonade Kit and the Weather Kit but they also have seasonally themed kits which are darling! Subscription options are available too, which is perfect if you want to give a gift that keeps on giving!
2. Coco Beads & Co – I’ll talk about this small biz a little later too, but Coco Beads started as a passion project by sisters and has really become one of my favorite places to snag meaningful, personalized gifts! This year they are offering Kids Craft Kits which I love! Perfect for the crafter in the family and makes a great stocking stuffer!
Gifts For Her
3. Daisy Faye Designs – The master maker of all things perfect for gifting is my friend Kim of Daisy Faye Designs. I own one (or five) of basically everything she makes and she’s often the first place I go when I need a gift for a gal in my life! Key fobs, adorable social distancing masks, zipper pouches, cowl scarves… so many amazing handmade items!
4. Abundant Affirmations – Another small business I’ve been a fan of for years! I connected with Jen over Instagram a few years back and have loved watching her business grow. She makes affirmations cards but like…really cute ones. My favorite sets are her Motherhood Affirmation Set and her Kids Affirmation Set but she also has a Body Positivity Set, a Money Mindset, and so much more!
5. Coco Beads & Co – I told you I’d talk about them again, specifically their personalized bracelets – the perfect gift IMO. Customize with kids names, initials, or an encouraging word. Not only are these pieces quality…the price is amazing so you can get her a full stack if you wanted! All custom options linked here.
6. Senita Athletics – A sister owned business based in Arizona, Senita makes my favorite swimsuits, active wear (for both maternity and non-maternity), lounge wear, and nursing friendly pieces! My all time favorite swim suit is from Senita and so are my all time favorite maternity leggings! Anything from Senita would make a perfect gift if you’re shopping for the active wear obsessed, the expecting mama, or a friend planning their beach vacation!! Use code BF2020 if you’re shopping during their Black Friday sale!
Gifts for the Home & Office
7. Drink On Me Designs – I’m bias, but my Aunt’s Etsy business is pretty darn cute! She makes custom canvas coasters that are both beautiful and functional! Not only do they blend with any home decor but I’m a coaster snob (I don’t like when they can’t handle condensation ha) and these work SO WELL! Give her shop a look, my favorite sets are the Schitts Creek inspired coasters or the Custom Collection coasters. Love you Aunt Debbie. 🙂
8. Canyon Clay Art Print – I recently discovered this small shop after the owner participated in a giveaway to help shine a light on human trafficking and one of my favorite non-profits (www.rescuefreedom.org). Jordan is the talent behind Canyon Clay and I instantly fell in love with her work. My favorite? Her Rainbow Art Print! This would make a sweet gift for someone headed to college, moving to a new home, or that just loves and appreciates art!
9. Ivory Paper Co Planners – This small shop made it on my personal Christmas list this year. I’m a paper and pen gal, so when I saw Ivory Paper Co made a budget planner I knew I had to share! Ivory Paper Co‘s planners come in every variety you can think of (weekly, daily, academic, all-in-one, and budget specific). They also have stationary, stickers, notebooks, and apparel! They’re currently doing 30% off for Black Friday, YAY!
Gifts for Him
10. The Happy Giver Apparel – Technically this is a gift for him or her. I own the Love Thy Neighbor sweatshirt in blue and thought it would make such a great gift for someone that might be hard to shop for (ahem..my husband!). AND if you’re into the Enneagram, they have apparel that’s enneagram themed that is amazing! A plus? You can feel good about giving any gift from the Happy Giver because they’re doing so much good in the world – just check out their About Page to learn more! Use code MONTHLY40 for 40% off right now!
Give an Experience
11. Virtual Style Session with Purpose Boutique – A personal styling session would make such an amazing gift, especially for someone that’s really hard to shop for! Purpose Boutique (locations in Silverdale, Kirkland and Tacoma) would be my number one choice of boutique for someone local to Seattle! Their mission is unique. “When you shop with Purpose, you’re shopping to change lives! A percentage of every sale is donated to Rescue:Freedom International to fight human trafficking, and we offer over 20 brands that are created by survivors of trafficking, and social injustice around the world.” Pretty cool, right? Shop their gift cards here and take a look at their virtual or in person styling sessions.
12. An at Home Manicure Day – Introducing, Mani Me …because: #2020. Guys. Mani Me 3D prints you a peel & stick manicure that perfectly fits your nail shape. Technology is insane y’all! All you have to do is send them a few photos of your nails, pick your nail design(s), and they do the rest! It’s so simple and easy to apply, too! I’ve worn multiple sets from these over this quarantine life and they truly are easy to apply, last me about 10-12 days, and cost significantly less than a manicure from a salon! Use code XOBECCA for $5 off your order!
13. Mini or Family Session a Professional Photographer – You all know I love family photos. This year, the perfect gift might be a photo shoot experience. I gifted my mom a shoot with Macey for Mother’s Day one year and she STILL talks about it as one of her favorite gifts AND still proudly displays those photos in her office. Talk about a gift that keeps on giving! If you’re local to the Seattle area, check out Chelsea Macor Photography, J Rose Photography, Casey Horst Co & Kailee Elizabeth Photography.
